Afternoon tea, Bangkok style

An afternoon in Bangkok can be spent in so many different and wonderful ways. You could take a speed boat ride on the Chao Praya, head to China town and sample some amazing street food, shop at one of the many outdoor markets… Or you could enjoy a self indulgent and utterly lavish afternoon at the Lebua tower club lounge! This is how they do afternoon tea in Bangkok…

Aptly named ‘High tea’ your very own little tea party sits proud, 52 stories up in the sky. We were lucky enough to be staying in one of the tower club suites so for the two nights we stayed this was a complimentary afternoon MUST.

On our first afternoon in Bangkok we were novices, tired, melting in the 35 degree heat and crazily arriving just 30 minutes before this daily event ended… There was no way we were going to make this mistake again, time would be found to recharge our weary, jet-lagged bodies!

The next afternoon we arrived in our Sunday best, ready to indulge!

Tearing ourselves away from canapés, Italian wine and the most delicious pastries, we wandered out on to the balcony to take in the panoramic views of the amazing city…

As the sun began to set we headed back to our room… Happy, full and well oiled! Afternoon tea and not a tea pot in sight…
