2 flights, 18 hours, 3 questionable plane meals and 7 films later we arrived in Male, capital of The Malidives.
We spent our first night on Kurumba, a small island 10 minutes away from the capital island. It’s chic and modern with a stunning beach.
The next morning we hopped on a speedboat back to the airport. Our little island of Maafushivaru is around 35 minutes in a seaplane, a very exciting prospect!
The plane hurtled down its ocean runway and before I knew it I was soaring over what felt like another planet. The colours, shapes and formations are out of this world.
We stepped off the plane onto what can only be described as paradise, straight from the pages of Conde Naste. The sun shone bright over the azure water, so incredibly vibrant that it almost hurts your eyes at first.
We were taken straight to our home for the following 11 nights. The beach villa is so homely and cosey yet very chic. It’s the perfect mix.
I am writing this post in the little coffee shop, sheltered from the rain that has decided to join us this morning. More Maldives posts to follow very soon!
