There are very few events in my calendar that warrant the use of coloured sharpie pens, gold stars and a countdown.
But Grillstock ain’t just any old event.
If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll have seen me bleating on about it for the last few weeks.
It’s a festival held across Manchester, Bristol and London. They bring together meat, music and mayhem. It’s just wonderful.
We made our way to Albert Square on the Saturday, grabbed a couple of cold beers and got stuck in.
We started with a good old fashioned rack of ribs.
Intensely rich and smokey with layers of fat and meat that just fell off the bone.
Full of ribs we headed to the Jack Daniels bar for a few whiskey fuelled cocktails.
A few drinks later we found ourselves getting down to Levi Roots and his Reggae vibes. He was absolutely awesome!
The rest of the day became a bit of a magical meat/booze filled blur. I decided to return on the Sunday with my best ‘sensible blogger’ head on.
First up where the Beefy Boys for some burger lovin.
This was my personal favourite of the weekend. Rich, meaty, juicy, cheesy, everything a burger should be. Just look at it…
Sweet, salty slow cooked pork filled brioche with a generous helping of slaw. So ruddy good.
If you fancy coming to the next one (and you really should!), follow them on Twitter & keep an eye on their announcements.
One piece of advice, if you come to the next one… wear your eatin’ pants! This ain’t no place for skinny jeans!
